On November 24, 2009, Painted Light Education Corporation is assisting Roosevelt Middle School to have our second videoconference with the original Freedom Writers from the Freedom Writers Foundation in Long Beach, CA.  This year, we're talking to Freedom Writers who have now become successful adults, to inspire our students to become better writers, and to promote diversity and self-expression.  To donate to the honorarium fees for the Freedom Writers, go to the Painted Light Education Corporation website, and you may use paypal or credit cards to help sponsor our school activity.
     The Videoconference program will be involving:
 Roosevelt Middle School, in the Glendale Unified School District, with Mr. Richard Mellott & students;
Port Huron North High School, with Mr. Gordon Farnsworth and students;
Mr. Michael Stambaugh and students from St. Jarlath Catholic School in Oakland, California;
Mr. Greg Calvert and students from Crenshaw High School, in Los Angeles, California;
And Ms. Cynthia Ray and Mr. Mauricio "Tony" Becerra from the Freedom Writers Foundation.
All of the teachers mentioned above are "Freedom Writers Institute"' graduates from the Summer, 2009 program, and are trained as "Freedom Writers Teachers."
